Group Policy Configuration

Before configuring the GPO settings, we need to do the following steps:

  • After installing the application, find the 'PolicyDefinitions' folder (C:\Program Files\Soda PDF Desktop 14).
  • Copy folders with translations and the ADMX file.

 

 

  • Paste the copied files to the following folder: C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions → check “Do this for all current items“ → Continue.

 

 

Now we can configure the GPO settings:

  • Go to the 'Edit Group Policy' on your machine → Expand the 'Computer Configuration' folder → Expand the 'Administrative Templates' folder.

  • Expand the 'Avanquest Software' folder → Double-click on the 'Soda PDF Desktop 14 Business' folder.

  • You will see three options for GPO configuration:

 

 

Note: If the application was open when configuring the GPO, you must restart the application to apply changes.

 

The “Chat” button configuration

  • Double-click on the “Chat” GPO setting → Select Disabled → Click Apply → Click OK.

  • Launch the app and check if the “Chat” button is hidden on the Home screen.

 

The “Check for update” button configuration

  • Double-click on the “Check for update” GPO setting → Select Disabled → Click Apply → Click OK.

  • Launch the app → Go to the Options, and check if:

    • The “Check for update” button is disabled in the Options.

    • The auto-update section is hidden.

    • The text “Disabled by your administrator” is shown.

 

The “Feedback” button configuration

  • Double-click on the “Feedback” GPO setting → Select Disabled → Click Apply → Click OK.

  • Launch the app and check if:

    • The “Send Feedback” button is hidden on the Home screen.

    • The “Send Feedback” button is hidden in the Help menu.
