Deploy Soda PDF via PDQ Deploy

  1. Inside the PDQ Deploy console select New Package as shown below.

 

 

Alternatively, you can do the same by selecting File -> New Package

 

 

  1. Inside the Package dialog box, find the Name field and enter the package name. In our test example, we have entered Soda PDF 14.

 

 

Leave all other options as default.

  1. Select New Step and click Install to create a new installation step.

 

 

  1. Inside the Package dialog box, Details section, specify the Install File. This is the path to the Windows Installer Package, i.e., MSI package.
    Please note that for a successful installation you need to install the Startup module first. After the installation of the Startup Module, any other module can be installed, and the order of installation does not matter. A list of the 4 modules contained inside the zip file we distribute can be seen below.

 

 

You can download the latest Soda PDF installation package here. 

 

  1. Inside the Parameters box specify where you want to install the software, followed by the parameter for quiet installation, e.g. TARGETDIR="C:\PDQ\" /quiet
  2. Hit Save and close the dialog box.
  3. Select Soda PDF 14 -> Deploy Once

 

 

In the Options section of the Deploy Once dialog box, you need to enter the credentials for the machine(s) you want the software installed on. 

 

 

  1. Add Credentials. If you are using PDQ Deploy for the first time, you need to create new credentials by selecting Add Credentials as shown below.

 

 

Inside the Add Credentials dialog box enter the DomainUser Name, and Password for the machine(s) you will be deploying to.

 

 

  1. Enter Computer Name. Inside the Deploy Once dialog box, you need to add the computer(s) to deploy the software on and select Add Computer

 

 

 

  1. Hit Deploy Now. On the bottom right of the Deploy Once dialog box, select Deploy Now.

 

 

If the installation is successful, the console should look like the one shown below:
